Qutaibah Odeh

Founder and Director of Al Bustan Community Association-Silwan. One of the founders of the savesilwan media initiative, and a member of the Silwan Lands and Real Estate Defense Committee.
He is a young Jerusalemite activist from Al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan town, which is under the threat of mass demolition. As a result of the repeated confrontations and escalations in his neighborhood, Odeh was arrested when he was a 13-year-old child. This arrest was a turning point in his life when he started his community work striving to find a safe place for himself and other young people of his generation. For the same purpose, he launched Al-Bustan Cultural Center initiative in 2009. By the time, and increased child arrests and demolition orders, the initiative was registered as a voluntary civil society working to serve more than 11,000 people in different fields- sports, psychological, social, and economic empowerment of women and youth, and the preservation of land and people. Odeh’s achievements include a large number of voluntary initiatives, one of which is establishing the largest scout troupe in Silwan, and a large number of projects implementing entertainment, psychological and social support activities, and preserving the Arab and Palestinian identity for the new generations. He was named by the Lady of Earth Foundation as the Young Leadership Personality of 2021.
He holds a Bachelor degree in Social Work and Psychology from Bethlehem University and a Diploma in Sports Executive Management from Bir Zeit University and the FIFA.
