Advisor to Prime Minister on Strategic Affairs since January 2022.

Mr. Al Deek has accumulated 17 years of experience in social policy, social protection, gender issues, and poverty. He served as Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Social Development (2018-2022); Assistant Deputy Minister for Planning & Administrative Development (2009-2018); Director of Public Relations at the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) (1997-1998).  In 1997, he served as the Executive Director Assistant for Publicity Campaign for the Palestinian Consensus of population, Housing and establishments. He also worked as a translator and editor at the Palestinian Human Rights Information Center of the Orient House in Jerusalem (1990-1997).

He is the co-chair of the Palestine-EU subcommittee on social Affairs and Health under the European Neighborhood Policy.  And he was a member of the Advisory Council for Formal Statistics, Head of Palestinian National Team for poverty reduction, and Deputy Chair of the National Committee for Eliminating VAW.

Mr. Deek holds M.A. in Democracy and Human Rights from Bir Zeit University (2004) in addition to two Diplomas, in Media and Translation and a B.A. degree in Linguistics.
